This private initiative that was developed in 2008 following a number of high profile accidents brings a focus on safety to individual pilots and private owners through presentations given at regional meetings. The forum is unique in that it brings together those that lack the benefit of shared experience that is so vital to the continuous safety improvement process. Attendance is free and open to any in the aviation community. The website contains a mass of carefully researched and tabulated accident data and information on forthcoming safety evenings. www.helicoptersafety.org
The International Helicopter Safety Team is dedicated to an 80% reduction in helicopter accidents by 2016. The EHEST is the European division of the IHST and it has published a number of guidelines for pilots based upon the results of accident study. Pilots old and new will find much useful information in the downloads section here.
